Teams News

Swansea

Swansea’s performance in the English Premier League so far has been stellar, and this was very apparent in their last game against Bolton. Although having to settle with a draw against their relegation-threatened hosts, the Swans cemented their reputation as one of England’s top-tier teams: 85% pass accuracy, 62% ball possession, and 26 total shots. They might have not won the game, but they performance was telling of EPL pedigree.

Brendan Rodgers will be happy to have one of the healthiest rosters at his disposal, with Gylfi Sigurdsson leading the charge. The 22-year old midfielder from Iceland has been a revelation as of late, with seven goals and two assists in 14 appearances. His performance has attracted the attention of bigger EPL clubs rightfully, and it remains to be seen where he will be playing his trade come next season.

Defensively, the Swans also have one of the best personnel in Michel Vorm. Despite missing out on the PFA Team of the Season accolade, Vorm has been arguably the best goalkeeper in the league this season. Accumulating no less than 13 clean sheets with the Swansea defensive personnel this season, the Dutch goalkeeper has tallied 5 Man of the Match Awards.

Wolverhampton

The Wolves’ fate has been sealed; the team which has struggled all season long is now out of the top flight after three successful years. Their season is not yet over however, as they will have the chance to end their EPL stay the good way while spoiling the runs of Swansea and Everton at the same time.

Terry Connor will be ending the season with a few of his top players out injured. Stephen Hunt, Jody Craddock, Jamie O’Hara, and Wayne Hennessey are all out. Hennessey’s case is of particular concern as he will be out for six months, which means he will be missing a number for the Wolves’ games next season.

Swansea v Wolverhampton Betting Preview

For the Wolves, this game will all be for pride. For Swansea, mid-table positioning is still at stake. With three games to go in the season, the Swans still have the opportunity to finish within the top 10. This is an achievement worth gunning for, surely, as the team looks to end the season strong. So as the Swans want this game more, they are bound to get something more out of it.

Betting Tip

Verdict: Swansea to win, 2-0.

Tip: A Swansea win is securely placed at 4/7.

The prospect of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Scott Sinclair to score anytime are worthwhile punts; 11/10 for the former and 7/5 for the latter. Risks reap rewards and Nathan Dyer’s 15/8 and Joe Allen’s 4/1 odds to score anytime are all worth a look.
