Real Madrid v Sevilla

La Liga leaders Real Madrid square off with Sevilla this Sunday, April 29 at 11:00 GMT.
Teams News
Real Madrid
The Los Blancos will be keen to bounce back from a heart-breaking loss to Bayern Munich in the midweek. The defeat leaves the team with only one trophy to aim for now, and this is the La Liga title. Although the title is still up for grabs with four games to go in the season, Real Madrid is favourite to claim the prized accolade after winning against bitter rivals Barcelona last week.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s winning goal last time out was his 42nd in the La Liga this season, upping his current tally to 56 goals in all competitions. The Portuguese has scored in five games of Real Madrid’s last six, setting his team up for an even stronger finish. With games to win to finally seal the deal, Jose Mourinho will surely be looking to his most expensive player to finish the job and grab the title.
Sevilla
Currently sitting at 9th place with 46 points, a top four finish is still mathematically possible for Sevilla. Unfortunately, bad performances in their last four assignments this season could see them drop as far 17th. This is due to a tightly-packed La Liga mid-table where the 5th and 17th teams are only separated by 12 points.
Before his team can start moving up however, Míchel González will have to think of ways to get points at the Bernabeu this weekend. This is difficult considering the away record of his team. In fact the last two games of Sevilla on the road ended with defeats, the most recent of which concluded in a 5-1 thumping by Getafe.
To make things tougher, Sevilla is going to face a team which has been prolific at home all season long as Real Madrid has only dropped points on six occasions this season.
Real Madrid v Sevilla Betting Preview
Real Madrid’s tie against Sevilla will be played in front of the same crowd that saw the Spanish giants fail to qualify for the Champions League Finals. This is going to play in the home team’s favour as they have never lost back-to-back at home a in all competitions this season. History will also be on the Los Blancos’ side; in their last six meetings Real Madrid has never dropped a point against Sevilla.
Betting Tip
Verdict: Real Madrid 4, Sevilla 1.
Tip: Everybody will be looking to ride on Cristiano Ronaldo’s and he is tipped to score anytime at 4/11 – it’s not that rewarding though so make sure you look elsewhere for better rewards. Alavaro Negredo to score anytime at 11/5 is arguably better as an alternative.
The game could also go over 2.5 goals at 1/3 but just like the Ronaldo punt, don’t expect a lot of return of investment from it.
